Jones: Triple Crown a marker

Ryan Jones reckons Wales have wiped away the disappointment of the Rugby World Cup with this Triple Crown success.

The Wales skipper lifted the Triple Crown shield at Croke Park as the Dragons celebrated a 16-12 win over Ireland. And he hopes that has put a line under the pain of failing to make the quarter-finals of the World Cup last year.

Jones said: “It’s impossible to put a fantastic moment like lifting the Triple Crown into words.

“It was a privilege that very few people get the chance to do. I was honoured to receive the trophy on behalf of all the other boys.

“No one was more disappointed about the World Cup than the players. We’ve all worked so hard over the last few months and this was a great reward.

“Hopefully we have put a line under the World Cup, put it in the past and now we can move on.”
