It was match where Briton Ferry never led, but threatened the Cimla line on numerous occasions and led 2-1 on try-count. However, the defence of both clubs was magnificent and ensured an exciting match.
A drop goal by Cimla fly half Gareth Jenkins opened the scoring and though Ferry centre Terry White missed with one penalty shot, he levelled with another.
After 28 minutes Cimla flanker Dean Szklarzewcz dived over for a try that centre Mark Williams converted, but Ferry scrum half and skipper Adrian Griffiths crossed and White converted for 10-10 at the break.
Williams kicked penalties after 45 and 52 minutes before Ferry closed the gap to a point with a try by replacement wing Chris Davies after a break by hard-working prop Andrew Chapple.
However, efficient referee Chris Lewis awarded two more penalties that Williams landed to settle the game despite constant Ferry raids.
