Glamorgan Wanderers 37 Neath 49
The All Blacks were too strong for their league rivals in a free-scoring semi-final. Neath’s win sets up a repeat of the final two years ago when the sides meet at the Millennium Stadium on May 17th and a prospective league and cup double.
Rowland Phillips’s men were made to fight all the way as Wanderers got off to a flying start through Gareth Morris’s third minute try. But Neath responded with two tries from wing Kevin James to grab a slender 16-15 interval lead.
And the favourites lived up to their tag by putting their foot on the accelerator in the second half with tries from Matthew Nuthall, James Merriman, Gareth King and Andrew Llewellyn.
Wanderers reduced the deficit with late consolation scores through centre Aled James, Sam Warburton and Richard Thomas but Neath march on.
