A try from debutant scrum half Danny Newlands was all that seperated the sides with Lewis Roblin kicking a conversion and two penalties to a Tom Prydie penalty and Matthew Morgan try for the Ospreys.

The Dragons take on league leaders the Scarlets on December 3rd knowing that victory would take them to within touching distance of a place in the final. The Blues meet the Ospreys in the other game, on the same night.

Before then, Gogledd Cymru under 18s meet the Scarlets this Sunday in a game that could see the latter extend their lead at the top of the tree.

Dragons team manager Billy Vyvian said of his side’s latest success; “It was a tight affair, from start to finish. However, the boys stuck in there and deserved the points.

“It is a real race for the final places, but at least we are in there with a chance.”

The under 16 game between the Ospreys and Blues North at Llandarcy ended in a 15-0 victory for the North.
