The Division One East strugglers ran in eight tries with Garin Pearce and Mark Addis both grabbing a brace of tries against their opponents from Division Four South West.

Damian Adams, Phil Davies, Matt Bibey and Dan Partridge also crashed over while Steve Robinson booted 19 points in a convincing and morale-boosting triumph.

The hosts raced into a 31-3 half-time lead before the visitors rallied through a double strike from Richard Hills.
It was more of the same for Beddau’s league rivals Penallta who cruised into the next round after a comfortable 34-5 home victory over Division Three South West outfit Penarth.

Andrew Jenkins, Robert Shannon, Morgan Allen, Andrew Jackson, Shaun Robson and Lee Thomas all crossed before Penarth grabbed a late consolation through Jason Allen.

A double from Neil Thornberry ensured a safe passage for Llanharan who swept aside Division One East rivals Merthyr 28-0 while Rumney’s defence remained intact in their 15-0 win over Skewen.

There were several shocks as Division Five East sides Ynysddu and Talywain both knocked out opposition in higher divisions.

Ynysddu produced a superb second half fightback to upset Division Three West side Pontyberem 12-11.

The Division Three West side were sent packing despite taking an 11-0 half-time lead.  Pontyberem led thanks to Matthew Sauro’s try and two penalties from Mike Murphy.

But Ynysddu hit back after the interval and Portuguese forward Nathan Dinez was the hero with two tries. His second came with just five minutes remaining and Morgan Parry’s conversion clinched the tie.

Talywain crushed Trimsaran of Division Four West by an impressive 30-point margin, running out 38-8 winners while another shock came at Division Three South East club Llantwit Fardre who knocked out Waunarlwydd 17-3.

Tries from James Allen and Kev Russell in each half fired Llantwit into Round Four.  Caerphilly of Division One East came away from Abercwmboi with a convincing victory.

The Cheesemen trounced their Division Four South East opponents 49-0, with full-back Nathan Griffiths grabbing a hat-trick and Keiran Phillips adding a superb intercepted try.

Ynysybwl scraped to an 18-10 success over St Peters despite the Division Three South East club coming from behind twice to level the scores. Former Bridgend centre Steve Pritchard was the match-winner with just 13 minutes left on the clock.

Crymych of Division Three West will be hoping for a plum fourth round tie after their 22-3 victory over Birchgrove in the Swalec Cup Third Round.

It is only the second time in the club’s history they have reached the fourth round stage. And they will be hoping for a glamour tie with Premiership opposition again after facing Bedwas on their only previous visit in 2004.

Tries from Noam Davey, Osian Griffiths and ex-Wales international John Davies secured the win for Crymych, who are now Division Three West’s sole representatives in the cup.

Club secretary Gordon Eynon said: “It’s a great feeling to be in the fourth round. Last time we gave Bedwas a really good game and we’re delighted to be there again.

“Most of all we’re hoping for a home tie in the next round, but if that were to come against a Premiership side that would be a bonus.”

Kenfig Hill of Division Three South West are now the lowest-ranked Western side left in the competition after they touched down 11 tries in a 71-10 triumph against Division Four West outfit Betws.

Lloyd Giles scored a hat-trick, and Nicky Giles claimed an impressive personal 26-point haul, including two tries.

Elsewhere the third round was low on shocks, but high on points, as a number of Division One sides put their lower-league opponents to the sword.

Tonmawr of Division One West claimed seven tries in their 45-3 demolition of Division Four side Llandeilo.

Two tries from Ben Davies and scores from Rob Hill, Rhys Lawrence, Mark Davies, Steve Lewis and Edje Ozoigwe put the home side into the hat for the fourth round draw.

Carmarthen Quins thrashed Maesteg Quins of Division Three South West 60-3 and Bonymaen knocked-out Oakdale of Division Five East with a 40-17 win.

Whitland avoided a potential banana skin with a 24-6 away win at Division Two side Cwmavon.

Division One East leaders Newbridge ran riot against Cwmgors of Division Four West claiming nine tries in a 85-5 victory.

There were two all Division One ties which saw Maesteg beat Cwmllynfell 23-0, and Narberth heap more misery on Newport Saracens with a 45-12 win.

Pontyates and Milford Haven, the two remaining sides from Division Five West both had dreams of a Premiership draw in the next round ended.

Milford Haven couldn’t pull off what would have been a massive upset as they went down 46-9 at home to Division One West side Llangennech, and Pontyates saw their cup run end against northern opposition with a 25-16 defeat against Llandudno.
