Young’s side may be in the bottom three in the division, but are high on form following a double win over Biarritz Olympique in the Heineken Cup.
The Scarlets are struggling for consistancy, and sit just one place above the Blues on the Magners League table. They have just 14 points from their sic games played and could be leapfrogged by the Blues shoudl they fall to defeat.Â
But Young does not want this weekend to be the beginning on the revival for the Scarlets.
“Every team has a bit of a dip throughout the season and I think the Scarlets have probably had that dip and they’re certainly going to come out of it,” Young said.
“They’re going to be hurting at the minute, which is worrying for us because we know at some stage they’re going to come out firing… let’s just hope it’s not this week.”Â
For his part, the Scarlets coach thinks that despite the difference in recent results, there coudl be a firecracker of a derby this weekend.
“We’re obviously not in the same position as them but this is a local derby,” he told BBC Sport Wales.
“These are the most intense… games of all and historically the form book is thrown out the window.”
Davies believes that hard work will see his side through their sticky spell, he said: “There’s no problems within this group, we’re working very hard to get some results on the board,” Davies added.
“The frustrating thing for us is that in virtually every game we’ve played we’ve put in a 40-minute performance.
“We’re all working very hard in making sure we can hold things together for 80 minutes, if we do that then the results will start to come away.
