Welsh international full back Kevin Morgan returns from a seven-month absence with an achilles tendon injury to take a place on the replacements bench.
Full back Morgan – capped 48 times by Wales – is named on the replacements bench after a seven-month lay-off with a ruptured Achilles tendon whilst Joe Bearman also returns after both players came through Monday’s development match against the Ospreys.
“I’m pleased Kevin and Joe both came through Monday night,” said Turner. “We still have a few injuries so I’m contemplating putting Kevin in the team for Sunday, although I would have liked him to get a bit more pitch time under his belt.
“We saw the old Kev on Monday night, the old step and dart and the injury didn’t seem to be a problem.
“Ulster are a structurally good side and you only have to look at their result over Munster at Thormond Park to know what they are capable of. They are a lot like us in many ways and they will have built up confidence on the back of a couple of wins. Sunday’s game is very important with the small points difference between us and we have to move up the league.”
Morgan, whose career has been dogged by injuries, added: “I’m really looking forward to playing against Ulster on Sunday. I’m pleased to have got through the development match on Monday without any problems and looking forward to be back in match action.
“Nothing replaces that match-day feeling and it’s only when you’re not playing that you realise how much you miss it.”
Martyn Thomas, Joe Bearman and Richard Parks all return from injury for Newport Gwent Dragons’ Magners League clash with Ulster Rugby at Rodney Parade on Sunday (kick-off 4:10pm).
