On an excellent playing surface it was an extremely hard fought encounter with the Bridgend team just edging out their opponents from the West to claim the Wynne Lloyd Memorial Cup.
The first half saw Bridgend take an early advantage with a well struck penalty by outside half Matthew Francis.
East Carmarthenshire fought back well and gained some territorial advantage before levelling the scores just before half time with a penalty by full back Steffan Duggan.
In the early stages of the second half Bridgend, buoyed by the introduction of three replacements, gained some momentum and established a lead with another penalty, kicked by Thomas Parry, and an excellent try scored in the corner, a misty vision to those in the main stand, by Lewis Harrhy.
For much of the rest of the second half East Carmarthenshire strove to pull back their opponents, and for the last 10 minutes of the match laid siege to the Bridgend line. They had chances but narrowly failed to take them.
Bridgend defended well and hung on to their narrow lead and eventually claimed the winner’s spoils.
