On an excellent pitch at Maesteg, Blues North took a very early three point lead with a penalty kicked by Lee Davies of Pontyclun RFC.
Minutes later, after a sustained attack by Carmarthenshire, the Beddau winger Luke John, made the play of the evening. John intercepted what may have been a scoring pass for Carmarthenshire 10 metres from his own line and set off on a 90 metre run to score the only try of the first half. Lee exhibited considerable pace in scoring what was the crucial score of the night.
Carmarthenshire camped in the Blues North half, missing three or four scoring opportunities before a penalty kicked by outside half Dominic Setaro opened their account just before half time.
The second half started with Carmarthenshire taking their attack to the Blues North line. From the back of a lineout 5 metres from the Blues North line lively Carmarthenshire flanker, Callum Evans, scored a try to bring the score to 11-8.
Despite much effort from both teams this score was the last of the Final. Carmarthenshire were very competitive to the end but the victory was narrowly gained by Blues North
