Div One East Round-Up

Blackwood maintained their dominance at the top of Division One East with a comfortable 37-8 win over Rumney.
The home side ran in five tries, the pick coming from wing Kristian Perry. 

Newbridge remain their closest challengers after their 23-12 triumph over Ystrad Rhondda. Lennie Woodard, Kerry Young and Richard Powell grabbed the tries for Newbridge. 

Meanwhile Merthyr’s miserable run continues after a 23-8 defeat at Caerphilly, andLlanhran won 20-0 away at Newport Saracens. In the remaining fixtures UWIC claimed a 25-7 win over Penalta and Beddau beat Bargoed 16-11.

Div One West Round-Up

Carmarthen Quins picked up their 16th win of the season at Whitland, running out 17-9 victors. Jason Harris and Anthony Evans went over for Quins, who remain 18 points clear at the top. 

Second-place Tonmawr continued their unlikely effort to catch the runaway leaders with a 15-7 win over Narberth, with Edge Ozigwe scoring the game’s winning try in the second-half. 

Elsewhere, Carmarthen Athletic beat Llangennech 31-14, Corus defeated Bonymaen 38-7, Cwmllynfell edged out Felinfoel 8-3 and Maesteg saw off Dunvant 28-7.
