“It’s a great boost to have Joe, Lewis and Danny available for selection, but you can’t take away from the guys who’ve been covering” said Dragons Head Coach Paul Turner.
“Although we lost at Leinster, I think there is a great deal to be taken out of our trip to Dublin,” “For me, the fact that despite the loss of our captain and key players like MacDonald, Bearman, Gomer Davies, Lee and Castle, the players who went on the trip really stepped up and make a massive bid for selection is very encouraging.
“Losing Luke Charteris early on in the match would have had a far bigger impact on the game a year ago than it did last week. I am very proud of the way the players grasped the challenge and opportunity offered to them and but for a couple of tough decisions, the game could have easily gone our way.”
A number of players weren’t considered due to injury. Tom Willis’s calf injury is expected to keep him out for another two weeks while Kiwi countryman Hoani Macdonald’s shoulder injury is likely to keep him out of action for a similar period.
Matthew Watkins (hip) and Luke Charteris (eye) are due back in a fortnight whlle Ben Castle (bicep), Phil Price (knee), and Pat Leach (foot) are due back in a weeks time.
