The powerful back row forward has been a great servant to the Blues over the past five years and as he prepares to take on the side he will be joining next season Rush is looking to put in a big performance.
“It’s going to be a bit of different occasion for me playing against Ulster that’s for sure,” said Rush.
“It’s not often you end up playing against a team you’ll be playing for the following season, but saying that I am looking forward to the game.”
“I know their forwards will try and give it to me a bit and I’ll probably want to prove a few points as well, so there’ll be a bit on it.”
“I don’t want to go out there and have a shocker, so I’ll be doing my best and hopefully put in a pretty good display.”
Explaining his decision to move on Rush added,
“It has been a great five years with the Blues and it is sad to be going but I’ve still got roots here, I’ve still got a house here, I’ve got lots of friends here so I’m sure I’ll be making lots of trips back, however, I did fancy a change.”
“I was quite keen on staying in the Magners League, but I just feel it’s time for me to move.”
“It’s been a good five years but to get the best out of me I need a fresh challenge, a new start, somewhere I need to prove myself again.”
“I just felt that would bring the best out of me for possibly my last two years of rugby.”
