The company, which has 20 branches across the UK , came up with the idea to enlist the support of the Welsh team as part of a national drive to highlight the importance of wearing a correctly fitted bra.
Cardiff Store Manager Claire Wilcox said: “We are delighted that the Wales Women’s rugby team is helping us get the message across to women in Wales and further afield about the benefits wearing the right size bra. Eighty percent of women regularly wear the wrong size, and the implications long-term can range from general discomfort to back and shoulder problems.
“We also want to show women that having bigger boobs needn’t be a barrier to positive self-esteem or to looking great.”
Claire explains that the most common problem seen by Bravissimo during bra fittings is customers wearing a bra that is too big in the back. This can cause marks and indents on the shoulders caused by the bra straps having to take the strain because the back of the bra is not firm enough to offer the right level of support.
Wales Women’s captain Mellissa Berry said: “We are delighted that Bravissimo is supporting the Wales Women’s Rugby team. Visiting the store has been an interesting experience for the squad, and we were surprised to learn that a lot of us were not the bra size we thought we were. The girls found the bra-fitting worthwhile, and thanks to Bravissimo will be more conscious of getting properly fitted in future.”
Bravissimo, which was set up in 1995 by founder and chief executive Sarah Tremellen prides itself on being inclusive and friendly, so there is an open invitation to call into the Cardiff store in Queen’s Arcade, or any of the other 19 outlets throughout the UK and speak to a team of professional bra fitters who are on hand to spend as much time as you like helping you to find the perfect bra for you.
