Pencoed wing, Chris Jones, raced clear for two tries, but it was not enough and the visitors touched down seven times. Andrew Spowart grabbed a double, while Liam Williams, Robert Bagley, prop Steffan Jones and his namesake Steffan Jones on the flank all touched down.
In Division Three West, Morriston held on for a 35-32 win over Cardigan. Morriston looked to be home and dry with ten minutes to go, up 32-18, thanks to tries from Steve Evans, Connor Dower, Paul Wopham and Peter Roberts. But a late rally from the home side with fly half Michael Diggle touching down twice ran the visitors close. But it was not enough and Morriston went away with 5-points.
Elsewhere in a dour event Llandeilo scraped past Llanelli Wanderers with an 11-6 win, Osian Williams scoring the game’s only try.
Third-placed Crymych were in better form and ran in eight tries in an eleven try, 52-22 triumph over Llanybydder. Rhys Jones, Carwyn Evans and Rhodri Davies scored the tries for the visitors but it was not enough to overcome the Preselimen. Matt Hamilton touched down twice and he was joined on the scoreboard by Guto Griffiths, Simon James, Tomos Jones, Nick Bevan and Gareth Davies.
In Division Three South West, Tondu closed the gap on pace setters Skewen, after a 25-18 at Tennant Park. Tries by Gareth Morris and Edward Price helped the home side in to an 18-8 halftime lead but the Waterwheelers hit back with second half tries from Paul Smithson and Darren Thomas. A further seven points from the boot of Dean Thomas was enough to beat the league leaders.
There was another top three clash in Division Four West with second placed Pontarddulais facinf third placed Tenby United at Coed Bach Park. The Seasiders came out on top, with a 26-25 win on the road. But it could have been a very different story, had the host’s Jonathan Lloyds’ last minute penalty not dropped agonizingly short of the posts.
