The under 18s, who were beaten 69-24 by the Blues at Merthyr, play their game at Eirias Park (kick off 2.00pm) and will be hoping for a much improved performance.
Head Coach Mike Harper retains faith with the vast majority of his squad from the previous weekend, the only new faces being Jamie Kelly (Llandudno), Rhodri Evans (Caernarfon) and James Roberts ( Mold ).
The starting line-up does include wing Teddy Brittain (Llanidloes), who left the Merthyr ground in an ambulance on Sunday after an accidental clash of heads but bounced back to prove his fitness at this week’s training session.
The under 16s break new ground when they play their game against the Ospreys at Rydal School, also a 2.00pm kick off. It will be the first regional age-grade championship game to be played at the venue.
Rydal has become an increasingly important partner in the development of the RGC brand, with four members of this season’s under 18 squad due to start their sixth form studies at the school next month.
The under 16s also lost heavily in South Wales at the weekend, 42-14, but will be looking to take inspiration from last years under 16s who, having lost their opening game, bounced back to win their second fixture
The team will be strengthened by the availability of a number of players returning from either injury or holidays and a much-improved performance is surely on the cards.
