Bedwas to Toulouse for Brew

From the Bridge Field, Bedwas to the Stade Ernest-Wallon, Toulouse – that is the task facing Newport Gwent Dragons wing Nathan Brew this weekend.

The Welsh international has struggled with a foot injury this year, which he picked up in pre-season and has made just one Magners League appearance for the Dragons.

To regain match fitness Brew has managed some game time with Principality Premiership side Newport in recent weeks to regain match fitness and capped his performances for the Black and Ambers with a hat-trick against Bedwas last weekend.

And the thought of lining up against Heineken Cup Champions, Toulouse in southern France on Saturday does not faze the 28-year-old.

“It’s good preparation isn’t it? From Bedwas to Toulouse,” said Brew.

“I’m not fazed by it. I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be a big challenge personally because it’s a big step up from the Bedwas game.

“It was important that I did get a few games under my belt prior to playing at the higher level because I wouldn’t have wanted to jump into it cold.

“It’s been very frustrating. I came back to the region and Will Harries was injured at the time, but I had that injury and it has given Adam Hughes his chance and he has taken it.”
