Wales flanker Dan Lydiate has revealed he has set his sights on righting the wrongs from Friday nights performance against England when Wales take on Scotland at Murrayfield next Saturday.

Lydiate made his first Six Nations appearance in the defeat to England in what he described as the toughest game he had ever played in but the 23-year-old Dragons flanker once again shone on the blindside and continued his impressive run of form in the famous red jersey.

“That was the toughest game I have played in. They had a big pack and you certainly felt all the hits,” Lydiate said after the game.

“It was disappointing. It was our first home game and we were playing England but they deserved to win.

“Personally, it was brilliant occasion to play in but you want to win. You don’t go out and play to lose so I am bitterly disappointed with that.

“Nobody is hurting more than the players and we are all disappointed for the fans and we will take a good long hard look at what happened. Fingers will be pointed this week and we will sort it out for next weekend.”

“We need to get back to winning ways. Once we do that, we will get some momentum and it will give us a boost. There were times we were sloppy against England and we need to cut out those mistakes. If we do that, we will really be firing.

“We were a bit rusty and you cannot be that way at this level.”
