If at first you don’t succeed ……… Neath try again to play their SWALEC Cup tie at Bargoed on Saturday after last week’s scheduled fixture was called off due to a frozen pitch.
Neath make one change from the side selected for last Saturday with Euros Evans returning at lock for Peter Sidoli. Coach Patrick Horgan is considering changing the mix on the replacements’ bench, adding prop Ross Davies to the squad.
The Welsh All Blacks have confirmed two re-arranged fixtures – Bedwas will visit The Gnoll on Saturday, February 12th with an earlier than usual kick off at 2.00pm; Neath will then head to Swansea on Tuesday, February 15th for a British & Irish Cup tie (KO 7.15pm).
Neath Head Coach Patrick Horgan, said: “Having travelled to Bargoed last Saturday we were disappointed that the pitch was too hard to play on especially as the home side had obviously put a lot of work into the day.
“Things haven’t changed in that like last week we are expecting a real battle at Bargoed and we have prepared for the game as we would for any game against Premiership opponents. We know that Bargoed are a formidable side – always one of the best in the East – and we respect what they have already achieved as a club.
“Last year, they took Llanelli, the eventual winners, all the way at Parc y Scarlets and they will be doubly dangerous on their own ground with the whole village there to support them.
“They have a number of players with Premiership experience, our prop Anthony Lott started out there and is still involved as a junior coach. We know we will need to play well to get the result we desire and progress in the Cup.
