The Scarlets flyer has impressed for his region since bouncing back from a shoulder injury and replaces Shane Williams on left wing who has been ruled out of the game with a knee injury picked up in the victory over Ireland.
“It has been a long hard road but I can’t wait for Saturday. It’s great to be back, I have got some miles under my belt and I am ready mentally and physically for the challenge on Saturday,” said 18-year-old North.
“Facing France in Paris is a massive ask, but I am extremely excited about playing in the Six Nations and playing my first game away for Wales.
“When I was out injured I was really hungry to get back and have the ball in my hand as soon as possible. I was frustrated at being out for 11 weeks but it’s a fantastic feeling to be picked for Wales.
“Being in camp with the team is great, there is a good atmosphere and it’s a great learning environment.
“I am still learning and developing but every player is. I have a lot of responsibility and I have got a big shirt to fill with Shane out injured.
“It’s an honour to wear Shane’s shirt, he is a legend of the game and is iconic in his number 11 shirt in Wales. It’s a huge ask to even get close to his performances but if I can do half as well I will have a great game.”
