RGC 1404 head coach and former Wales Union and League international, Clive Griffiths, described his side’s win as: “An awesome performance with some outstanding tries. No one should underestimate this result.

“Some of the tries were top drawer and we showed our intent to play with some kick and go, and running the ball. We built on the victory at Aberavon and this result against a top class Premiership side and to nil them on tries was extremely pleasing.”

Tonmawr opened the scoring with a penalty from David Flanagan but the North Walians gained a try by lock Luke Cudmore that Conor Braid converted.

Tom Sneddon scored the second after a reverse pass from Braid had the crowd on their feet. Braid converted.

Another penalty from Flanagan brought Tonmawr back in the game but a superb try went to Ben Stemalseck and again Braid converted.

The second half started with Flanagan landing his third penalty before Stemalseck danced over for his second try and Jeremy Kyne soon followed. Then, Cudmore gained his second try with Braid converting and Richard Hopkins ran in for the final try.
