He said Wales will have to battle hard because the French crowd will be unforgiving if their team fails to play at their peak.
Howley said the Welsh team had trained well in their final session in Paris on the eve of their final game in the RBS 6 Nations of 2011.
He said:”France will have prepared really well throughout this week. We now the first twenty minutes will be crucial. We know how easily the crowd can be influenced.”
Howley revealed how the wins against Scotland, Italy and Ireland had boosted the Welsh camp going into the Paris encounter.
“We’ve taken a lot of confidence from the last three games,”he added. “The players can give themselves a huge pat on the back for their performances but now we want to be consistent.
“International rugby is all about winning games.
“The World Cup will come soon enough but right now it is all about what happens on the day in Paris.”
The Wales Attack Coach said that the recent campaigns had seen the squad identify a pool of talent to create competition for places across the team.
He said:”We feel we have created a lot of competition for places. We are building nicely towards Rugby World Cup and it’s about building that competition and putting pressure on our players.
“Now we have competition through the fifteen and that will only benefit us going into Rugby World Cup.”
The Wales Skills Coach, Neil Jenkins, echoed Howleys warning that France will be out to hit back after their defeat at the hands of Italy.
He said:”This will be a different French side to the one that turned up last Saturday. Our main focus is on ourselves and trying to get the win we need.
“It’s an awesome stadium, one of my favourites next to the Millennium Stadium, and the boys who haven’t been there will enjoy it on the night.”
