A series of initiatives around the big games have caught the attention of supporters with bursts of summer sunshine weather also encouraging fans to secure their places for the two matches.

Wales take on England in Cardiff on Saturday 13th August  with their final preparation international against Argentina at the stadium seven days later on 20th August  (both 2.30pm K.O.).

Wales also take on England at Twickenham on 6th August so Head Coach Warren Gatland knows his team are in for a tough series of games before heading off for New Zealand.

Following the sell out Take That concert a new pitch has already been installed at the Millennium Stadium in readiness for the bruising encounters ahead.

A free-to-enter open training session involving the entire squad has also been arranged at the Millennium Stadium on the afternoon of Tuesday 2nd August to help get fans in the mood for some exciting summer rugby.

The extended Wales squad is already hard at work with the focus on fitness and on 2nd July they headed off for the first of two tough 10-day training camps in Poland.

All the activity has encouraged a wave of interest in the home games with Warren Gatland set to announce the Wales Rugby World Cup squad two days after the Pumas clash, on Monday 22nd August.

This week tickets for the games against England and Argentina at the Millennium Stadium also went on sale at the main Tesco stores (via customer service desks) across Wales to ensure fans get easy access to tickets.

Fans can now top up their weekly shop with a chance to watch Wales play rugby.

For the Argentina game on 20th August fans are being offered a ‘two tickets for the price of one’ deal by the WRU.

Anyone who buys a ticket will get a seat of the same value entirely free of charge with the offer valid for all ticket prices.

The game against Argentina is being billed as a ‘Send-Off’ international for supporters, as it is the last chance to watch Wales play before the team heads off to take part in Rugby World Cup 2011.

Wales have now revealed their Rugby World Cup jerseys which have been specially designed by Under Armour after intensive research involving squad players and coaches.

WRU Group Head of Marketing, Craig Maxwell, said: “Excitement is building for the big games and a recent spell of good weather has also helped encourage interest.

“Supporters are aware these games are their chance to wish Wales well at the Rugby World Cup so they want to be there and make a noise.

“We have ensured there are plenty of ticket sales initiatives in place to make it as easy as possible to get to the games and that has helped fuel a great response.

“The open training session will also attract a big crowd because it is fast becoming a tradition we arrange so that families can get close to the players and see how they prepare for the big games.”

Fans can also purchase their tickets for the Millennium Stadium clashes offer online at www.wru.co.uk/tickets or by calling the ticket hotlines 08442 777 888 or 02920 230130.

Tickets to the Wales vs England match on Saturday 13 August (kick off 2.30pm) are priced £30 and tickets to the Wales vs Argentina on Saturday 20 August (kick of 2.30pm) are priced at £25 and are on a ‘buy one get one free’ promotion.
