Ynysybwl and Penallta also kept their winning ways going as they both secured home triumphs. The ‘Bwl were 19-3 victors over Llantwit Fardre with half-back partners Greg Rees and Richard Tibbs the home heroes.

Scrum half Rees sniped over for a try and also added two penalties, while outside half Tibbs converted Rees’ try, dropped a goal and scored a third penalty. Meanwhile, it was Andre Soroco who starred for Penallta in their 11-8 home win over Heol y Cyw as he landed two penalties to go with centre Steve Davies’ try.

Bedlinog just did enough to hold off Rhydyfelin at home, but it took 23 points from the boot of the prolific Ben Grzescia to clinch a 28-24 win. As well as converting No 8 Carl Giles’ try, he also kicked seven penalties, while Kirk Richards and Garyn Lucas got the visitors’ tries and Kristian Norman kicked 14 points.

St Peter’s heaped more woe on relegated Penarth as they ran in four tries through Josh Kelly (2), Matthew Khan and Tom O’Brien to win 28-12, while Nelson had 11 points from the boot of Dan Geary to thank for their slender 16-15 home triumph over Dowlais.

Wattstown picked up a try bonus in their 41-8 home win over Bridgend Sports in Division 4 South-East while Lawrence Howley scored all Pontyclun’s points in a 16-9 win over Barry. There was little to choose between the sides in the other games as Abercwmboi beat Llandaff 18-13, Llandaff North came up with another away win, 23-17 at Llantwit Major, Porth Quins held on for a 10-9 home win over Nanytmoel and Pontycymmer and Penygraig drew 6-6.
