He believes the honour of wearing the Welsh jersey will drive his teammates on in their final game of the competition.
Jones said: ”There’s a lot of proud people in this squad and back home people want us to do well. When you have that challenge you have to deliver.
“At the end of the day you are pulling on the Welsh jersey and that is a massive honour and you have a responsibility to respect it.”
Jones believes Welsh fitness will be important to the outcome of the game as Wales will want to continue to play an intense brand of rugby.
He said: ”We are a pretty fit outfit and while they are a talented side with great players behind their pack it will be a challenge but a challenge we are looking forward to.
“It is also about momentum to us and we want to keep going in the right direction and that is a challenge our players and coaches set for themselves.
“This is final match is so it’s important to us because it is a game against Australia and we want to finish third.
“We have to pick ourselves up in spirit as it is a massive honour to play in a third and fourth place play off.”
He praised the captaincy of Sam Warburton saying he had made a massive difference in his role. Jones said: ”Sam is superb on the pitch but off it he has been top draw as well. It is not easy for a youngster to lead a side but he is just world class.”
