Newbridge eased to a 22-10 success at Mountain Ash thanks to tries from Terry Young, Darren Hughes and Aaron Quick. Meanwhile Bargoed secured a comfortable 27-10 triumph over visitors Gilfach Goch, with Jordan Purcell, James Pizey and Adam Coupe crossing for the hosts.
Ebbw Vale routed local rivals Tredegar at Eugene Cross Park, with braces from Tom Ashmead, Tom Macpherson and Tom Daly helping the Steelmen keep in touch at the top of the table.
Blackwood recorded a try-scoring bonus point in a 27-20 win at Rumney. Kristan Perry (two), Gareth Price and Jeremy Roberts touched down for the visitors, although home wing Gareth Stoppani also bagged a brace. Danny Clark kicked ten points for Rumney, but it was Roberts’ late try which settled a tight match in Blackwood’s favour.
An entertaining match at the Memorial Ground saw hosts Glamorgan Wanderers fall 28-35 to Merthyr. Wanderers led at the break thanks to Joe Xiberras and Charlie Johnson tries, but two second half interception scores for Merthyr’s Greg gave his side a lead they refused to surrender.
Elsewhere, Treorchy leapfrogged hosts Beddau after leaving Mount Pleasant Park with a 25-7 victory. Zebras tries came from Jamie Summers, Richie Lewis and Wayne Davies.
In One West, Carmarthen Athletic were on the wrong end of a 27-10 defeat at Bridgend Athletic, a result which sees them drop to fifth, with Bridgend rising three places to sixth. Rhys Ward Jones’ double, as well as tries from Tom Cole and Stuart Mason, earned the hosts a crucial bonus point win.
Waunarlwydd fell to a 46-14 loss away at Whitland. Ryan Michael was the hero for the Borderers, scoring three of his side’s seven tries.
UWIC also recorded a big win in a high-scoring encounter with Llanharan. All six of the Student’s touchdowns, which included a double salvo for fullback Dan Bibby, came in a devastating first half statement of intent.
Tondu climbed from the foot of the table thanks to four-try win at Bonymaen. Brothers Rob and Paul Smitson made it a family occasion to celebrate with a try apiece, while Nick Hopson and Dean Thomas also touched down.
Elsewhere, TATA Steel ground out a 25-16 win at Ammanford while Llangennech were bonus point winners over Narberth, triumphing 30-18.
