Wallabies coach Robbie Deans isn’t expecting a drop off in standard by his players when they head to Europe for end of season clashes with the Barbarians and Wales.

The Wallabies meet Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday, 3 December in a game that will give the home side a chance to avenge their Bronze Final defeat at the recent World Cup in New Zealand.

It will also be a precursor to next summer’s three-Test tour by Wales in Australia that will mean the two nations will have met five times in nine months.

Despite their long season – it will also be the 17th Test of the year for Wales – Deans has promised the Wallabies will be up for the challenges presented to them at Twickenham and Cardiff.

“I don’t envisage they will be tired at all, I think they will be quite refreshed,” said Deans..

“Obviously it’s been a big year, but they have had some time away from the game the last couple of weeks since the World Cup and I’m expecting these blokes will be really quite keen to go.”
