Llandovery extended their lead at the top of the Principality Premiership this weekend with a 22-6 victory over Newport. Scrum half Lee Rees, winger Huw Grundy and prop Owen Evans got Llandovery’s tries. They now go four points clear at the top of the division.
A superb performance from fly half Aled Thomas helped Carmarthen Quins defeat Cardiff 25-13 today. Thomas scored 15 points in total, getting a try, two conversions and two penalties.
Pontypool played Tonmawr in a battle between the bottom two sides. Tries from winger Gareth Williams, centre Dano Roberts, winger Ryan Owen and prop Nicky Blake helped Ponty’ earn the bonus point win.
Bedwas ended Bridgend’s winning streak with a 19-13 win at the Brewery field. Centre Iain Smerdon went over for Bedwas’s only try of the game. Dai Flanagan scored all of the Ravens’ scores; getting a try, a conversion and two penalties.
