Back at the start of the season, the 20-year-old had two aims and that was to impress in pre-season and try to make a few starts for his regional side.
Fast-forward to the present day and Williams has been one of the stars of the season so far in Llanelli.Â
The Morriston-born youngster has scored four tries in his eight starts this season and impressed on the European stage where he has started both of the Scarlets’ Heineken Cup games.
“It has been quite a fast and crazy few months,” he said.
“My aim was to try to do well in pre-season and hopefully make a few starts for the Scarlets.
“But they have given me a lot of chances and I’d like to think I have taken them.
“Coming into the Welsh squad has been unreal. I have learned so much already.
“It is quite daunting but it is nice as well.
“When I was younger I looked up to Shane Williams and now I’m in the same squad as him. He has been around for a long time and is a class wing.
“Hopefully I’ll be able to learn from him and from the whole experience generally.”
