The Newport Gwent Dragons skipper has been named in a 25 man squad to face Munster in the RaboDirect PRO12 at Rodney Parade on Saturday night and hopes to take some part in the game.

If he can successfully negotiate his return then there is an outside chance he could be available to Warren Gatland for Wales’ final two RBS 6 Nations matches and the push for the Grand Slam.

Also fit to return for the Dragons is Springbok wing Tonderai Chavhanga following a rib injury sustained against the Ospreys in early January. Chavhanga takes over from Adam Hughes, who picked up a facial injury in last week’s win in Aironi.

Munster haven’t won at Rodney Parade since March, 2009, and only one team, the Scarlets, have managed to upset the Dragons on home soil this season in the RaboDiredt PRO12
