Newcomers Steffan Jones, Jean Baptist Bruzulier and Matthew Pewtner join Kristian Phillips and Lee Williams who missed the opening rounds on Australia’s Gold Coast, Dubai and Port Elizabeth in South Africa.
Paul John’s men are currently lying in seventh place on the points table, having picked up the Plate finals in two of the opening three legs prior to Christmas.
Wales face three potential banana skins in their pool with Fiji, Argentina and Tonga who capable of pushing Wales to the limit.
Wales kick off their tournament tomorrow against the big hitting Tongans before facing Argentina and Fiji.
“This group is really tough to call. When you look at it, all the teams are capable of beating each other so it’s going to be really tough to get out of the pool,” said Paul John.
“The boys have trained hard all week since arriving in Wellington and are raring to go. We had a warm-up against Australia mid week which blew away a few cobwebs and now we’re eager to get going.”
