With Neath not playing, and Aberavon going down 20-13 at Carmarthen Quins, Llandovery would have been top dogs had they managed to maintain they good run of home form and beaten Keys. But tries from second row Dan Hodge and wing Nathan Trowbridge paved the way for the visitors to notch a notable triumph and move into sixth place in the table.
Carmarthen Quins kept the pressure on the top three with their 20-13 home win over fellow title-chasers Aberavon. Prop Robert Evans and full back Daniel Evans crossed for tries for the Quins, while outside half Jamie Davies got all Aberavon’s points.
A brace of tries from full back Geraint O’Driscoll inspired Pontypool to the shock of the weekend, hammering mid-table Cardiff 32-13. Hooker Ryan Prosser and winger Rory Dudiana scored Pooler’s two other tries.
Tonmawr’s miserable season continued as they were put to the sword by Llanelli, going down 49 -21. Full back Jordan Williams converted all seven tries from the visitors as they moved to within four points of league leaders Neath.
