Three converted tries saw the Cyncoed-based side progress safely against their fellow Division 1 West colleagues. The visitors were ahead 14-6 at the interval and tries from No8 Sam Cross, wing Pierre Tucker and Joe Tomlinson, allied to conversions from Rhys Roberts and Martin Cooks, completed the triumph.
In the other rearranged SWALEC Cup tie, Premiership side Swansea just edged out Division 1 East battlers Beddau, 22-20. The All Whites outscored their hosts by four tries to two, but still only narrowly scraped home.
Steffan Jones, wings Nicky Harwood and Jordan Scidmore and centre Stefan Watermeyer all crossed for tries for the visitors, but James Dixon could only convert one of them. Beddau had tries from prop Liam Bodman and fly-half Cameron Pimlow and Steve Robinson kicked 10 points to keep the pressure on right to the end.

Last season’s SWALEC Bowl finalists Maesteg Quins marched into the quarter-finals of this year’s SWALEC Plate competition after a narrow 17-14 home win over Division 2 West side Kidwelly.
Flanker Sean Cleary and fullback Geraint Evans crossed for the home team’s tries, with outside half Gareth Lewis converting both and adding a penalty. A try for Lewis’s opposite number, Richard Watts, along with three penalties for the visitors, were not enough to see them through.
A low scoring game at Cwmllynfell ended with the home side edging out Glynneath 6-3, with two penalties from Peter Thomas securing the win. Two tries from Seb Toms, and another from Rhys Clarke, saw Penallta win 22-3 at Senghenydd to set up a home clash with Maesteg Quins in the last eight.

In the SWALEC Bowl, Resolven’s fast first-half start was enough to seal an 18-6 win over Treherbert. No 8 Ashley Morgan scored one of their tries as they led 15-3 at the interval.
David Felton notched two penalties and a conversion to ensure a safe passage into the next round. Two penalties from Josh Morgan saw Treherbert at least make the scoreboard.
