Ponty overcame a difficult quarter-final hurdle by defeating Neath at the Gnoll 23-10 and will be aiming to take the next step before reaching their fifth final in the last eight years.
However, Newbridge, who have yet to face a Premier club in the competition this season, will provide tough opposition after suffering only four league defeats to date.
Cross Keys, the second of the Premier outfits left in the cup, will meet Ebbw Vale who are top of Division One East.
Keys knocked out Cardiff in the quarter-finals after a thrilling match at Pandy Park and they will be hoping that Dean Gunter, who amassed 22 points in that 37-24 win, will stay on top form.
Keys’ Greg Woods is looking forward to the meeting, declaring: “We won’t be underestimating Ebbw Vale as they have been doing well in Division One. We have had a really good cup run and now we have a Gwent derby in the semi-final which should be really exciting.”
Vale had their own kicking hero in outside half Dorian Jones who kicked 20 points as the Steelmen defeated Swansea 25-19 so they will be confident of taking on another Premier outfit.
