The second home game of this years’ Six Nations at Eirias, Colwyn Bay, will again be played in front of a capacity crowd of over five and a half thousand spectators.
Tickets for the game went on sale in December but the last few days has seen over 2,000 sold to Welsh rugby fans in North Wales, an indication of the excitement surrounding rugby in the region.
WRU Event Manager Alex Luff said: “We have had a huge amount of people coming along to Eirias to buy tickets in the past few days. We were delighted when the Scotland game sold out and to sell out for a second time is fantastic. Having such an enthusiastic home crowd is a massive boost to the Welsh team who want to create a fortress for the opposition here at Eirias.”
Someone who won’t be able to make the trip up North because of the senior Wales side playing at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday, is Wales backs coach Neil Jenkins and cousin of Wales U20 captain Ellis Jenkins.
“Ellis is a very talented player and I know he’ll do a great job as captain tonight,” he said. “I haven’t coached him as he’s a forward and I’m obviously a backs coach but he’s an intelligent player like all of the Jenkins clan. I wish him all the best for tonight’s match and good luck to the rest of the boys,” said Jenkins
