Neath looking for final push

Neath play their final home game of the season on Saturday when they entertain Bridgend at The Gnoll (KO 2.30pm).

Gareth Gravell’s side will be looking to sign off on a high note after successive defeats at Llanelli and Aberavon have seemingly knocked Neath’s hard-pressed, injury-ravaged squad out of the title chase.

But the Welsh All Blacks still have an outside chance – albeit only a mathematical one which would be ample reward for a squad that has soldiered on through an injury-decimated season.

Coach Patrick Horgan says, “We are looking forward to finishing The Gnoll campaign strongly and I am sure our supporters will turn out in numbers to demonstrate their appreciation of everything that this squad has put in over the last 8-9 months.

“The gods have not smiled on us – especially over the last month – but we’ve been up there fighting all the way and we’ll continue to do so until the end. Who knows? If we win our last two games home to Bridgend then at Cardiff on Saturday week, anything might happen.”

Neath A.Bramwell; K.James, G.King, G.McCarthy, A.Jenkins; J.Thomas, T.James; N.Downs, R.Clancy, J.Reeves; E.Evans, R.Jones; M.Rees, L.Evans, G.Gravell (captain)

Replacements: T.Price, A.Littlehales, A.Powell, L.Ward, J.Davies, D.Langdon, T.Barry
