A hard fought 20-0 win over Llandovery at Sardis Road in the final league game of a long campaign was enough to secure top spot for Ponty.
The team was cheered on to victory by a large and vociferous crowd at Sardis Road, with players and fans joining in the celebrations as the final whistle blew.
Ponty team manager Richard Langmead was proud of the club’s achievement.
“This was an awesome performance to end the league campaign” said Langmead.“It rounded off a difficult month where we have played eight games and gone on an unbeaten run.
“I can only pay tribute to the magnificent team effort and also to the backing of our supporters who gave us an extra lift today.
“We know from last year’s experience that the job is only half done and that the Premiership play-off final awaits. We know what will be needed and will need to carry on the momentum of today’s performance into that game.”
