The much-sought after Andrews represented Wales in the FIRA 7s tournament in Russia recently and then travelled to South Africa to play for Tigerburg in Cape Town to further his rugby development.
Also joining the Wizards from Tonmawr is the 30-year-old lock forward Hywel Davies, a former Wales Rugby League player, who will be keen to establish himself in the Aberavon squad and challenge for honours this season.
Also joining the club is 21-year-old hooker Ieuan Davies, the former Cardiff player, who has played 18 times for Wales at different levels.
Beginning with Under 16 caps from Treorchy Comprehensive School in 2007, Davies joined the Blues Academy and represented Wales U18s in 2009, later starting senior rugby with Glamorgan Wanderers to make his final U18s appearance against Australia before moving to Cardiff and making Wales U20 appearances in the 2010 World Cup.
On the field, Aberavon begin their campaign on Saturday with a home match against Division One West champions, Tata Steel, who will play in the new Championship this season. (KO 2.30pm Talbot Athletic Ground).
The other pre-season friendlies are: at Moseley (3pm) on Saturday, August 18; home to Tondu (2.30m) on Saturday, August 25 and at Baglan (2.30pm) on Monday, August 27, as well as a cricket match on Sunday, August 12 for the Tom Maynard Charity at Port Talbot Town Cricket Club’s Mansel Ground.
