As is becoming customary, the forwards worked hard at scrums and breakdowns which allowed good distribution to the backs and through excellent handling and good turn of pace the backs scored seven out of the eight tries.
Emily Smith, Sarah Thorne (2), Nicola Smith (2) and Kerry Jenkins (2) touched down with Jenkins adding three conversions. Amy Thomas scored to ensure the forwards union weren’t left out.
Blaeanu Gwent tries came through Kim Boaler and Lauren Lewis, both making the most of unusual lapses in Croesy’s defence.
In only their third competitive season after reforming, this shows real promise for Croesy in the season ahead as they aim for promotion into Division 1. Next Sunday, 16th September, they face Gwernyfed away.
New players are always welcome, age 11-17 for girls’ rugby and 18+ for women. Training is on Monday and Thursday at Woodland Road, Croesyceiliog.
