Evans produced a fine display of decision making delivering passes to execute back line plays to create four unanswered tries with one conversion by half time.
The possession she received gave her the platform to attract defenders then putting oncoming runners into space –Â there was no better example than Caryl James coming off her wing to power through using her explosive pace to great effect.
Cardiff Met however put up a much better display at the scrum with the lineout again being a positive, however the Quins backline scuppered any chances or opportunities for a score until midway through the second half with vice captain Carys Phillips powering over from 10 metres out to score the Students only try.

Cardiff Met. Freshers Kitty Newton, Alice Griffiths, Charlotte Mayfield, Charlotte Myrans, Joanne Jones, Iona Evans, Lois Wynne – Williams, Megan Jones all making their debuts for the University and playing their part in a strong second half with Quins coming out on top 7-5.
There were some good battles up front with the back row department where Becky Newton and Catrina Nicholas went head to head with Delyth Davies and Carys Phillips in the mix of a very competitive contact area and around the field.
Cardiff Met now look forward to an away game at Pontyclun next Sunday.
