The second week of the U16 regional age grade championship sees the Dragons looking to bounce back from their defeat last week to Blues South while the Scarlets will be looking to make it two wins from two as they take on Blues North.

Grant Robson’s men rallied well in their opening game of the campaign against Blues South but will be looking for a positive result as they welcome the Ospreys to Tredegar. (KO 7.15pm)

After impressing off the bench last week with a second-half try and a number of clean line breaks, Jarred Rosser starts tomorrow night’s game at fullback. He will be looking to kick-start a backline that played some free-flowing rugby in the game against Blues South but ultimately it came too late as they slipped to a narrow 22-19 defeat.

Bryce Morgan will again be one of the key figures in the pack and along with Jack Kedward and Leon Brown in the front row will be looking to compete with the physical Ospreys’ forwards at the contact area.

Blues North play their first game of the season at Abercynon (KO 7.15pm) and head coach Geraint Lewis knows his side face a tough game against the Scarlets who enjoyed a comfortable 32-10 win away to the Ospreys last week.

“I’m expecting a tough game against the Scarlets, they had a good win last week against the Ospreys and I am sure they’ll be looking to do well this year,” he said.

“I was certainly impressed by what I saw last week and we’ll have our work cut out. They had a good set piece and used the ball well with their strong runners. It’ll be a big test for us but we’ll have to be at our best to compete.

“But we’re looking forward to it, we’ve had good preparation and the boys have worked hard in pre-season and are raring to go.”
