Croesyceiliog put their stamp on the game straight from the off to ensure Gorseinon knew what they were up against ,with Kembrey scoring after just two minutes, picking up from the back or the ruck, to drive across the line, as the forwards had worked the ball up the field from kick off.
The second try came from Tazine Bogue, again hard work from the pack allowed the ball to be shipped wide down the blind side, from fly half Kerry Jenkins to blindside flanker Bogue, who powered over the try line.
Kembrey added to her first try on the 30-min mark with a storming run from just inside Gorseinon’s half. Croesy’s work around the breakdown was proving fruitful and provided the turnover for Kembrey to make the break.
However things didn’t all go Croesy’s way with five minutes remaining of the first half as they lost inside centre, Sarah Thorne, to the sin bin after being shown yellow for a high tackle after previously being warned for a dangerous tackle.
Although being down to 14, it didn’t hinder the home side as Kembrey sealed off an excellent first half with her third try and allow Croesy to take a 20-0 lead into half time.
The second half was very stop start and the tough Croesy defence proved too much for Gorseinon who suffered from numerous injuries. The subsequent breaks in play slowed the game down and disrupted Croesy’s tempo and rhythm allowing Gorseinon to enjoy a spell of possession. Nevertheless they never really threatened to make a breakthrough and frustration amongst their team was evident.
It was Croesy’s hooker Natalie Gray who topped off the win diving over in the 75th minute to add the final score of the game.
