The away side came out firing on all cylinders and took the game to Sea View from the off.
The poor conditions should have played into the hands of the Sea View forwards but despite their impressive ball carrying, Croesy managed to turn over plenty of ball at the breakdown.
Playing uphill and against the wind, Croesy managed to score three tries in the first half through fly-half Kerry Jenkins, centre Nicola Smith and No. 8 Hannah Roberts with Jenkins converting one of these scores.
Sea View responded with two scores from their outside centre Rafiuken Taylor who showed great pace and vision throughout. Melissa Clay added one conversion for a half-time score of 12 -17.
Croesy managed to hang on in the second half despite going down to 13 players. They lost their captain Roberts to injury and although they were giving away a two player advantage, they held on for the victory.
From a Croesy attack, Jenkins kicked through to the try line and despite a good chase, Sea Views’ Taylor got to the ball first. The visitors mistakenly thought Taylor grounded the ball and stepped away, alloweing her to pick up and run the length of the pitch to score under then posts. Clay converted the try to bring the scored level at 17-17.Â
Croesy were not to be denied a win and a bonus point though and they dug deep to secure the win courtesy of a try from flanker Danielle Gagne.
