The Six Nations champions have crashed to five consecutive defeats and face the daunting prospect of facing the All Blacks on Saturday.
But the world champions reckon the return of Warren Gatland will fire up Dragons and they expect to enter a red-hot Millennium Stadium caldron.
“Warren will respond as any other coach and will try to fix the problem, said assistant coach Ian Foster.
“We’ve kept an eye on their last two games and it probably hasn’t gone as well as they wanted.
“But the same could be said of us. We played two very fired up teams, Scotland and Italy, who caused us issues throughout the game. We expect nothing different this week, really.
“But while there are questions over their recent form their eyes are on this game and we know there will be plenty of heat coming our way. We’re expecting them to target this game.”
Samoa branded Wales as “predictable” following their historic 26-19 victory in Cardiff.
But Foster disagrees and expects a fierce response from a side that has not triumphed over the All Blacks in 59 years.
“It’s amazing what teams will say when they win,” added Foster.
“Every team is reasonably predictable because you’re analysed so thoroughly. If you are predictable it’s because the other team has done their homework and it’s matched up.
“When you’ve lost a couple, a game like this can be ideal as it makes sure your focus is sharp. We’re expecting a very passionate Welsh team who carry hard, are very physical at the breakdown and like to play.
“They’re a country that likes to defend with line speed but. Knowing all that doesn’t make the job any easier.
“It’s always a bit special playing here, it’s a fantastic stadium, a very proud country and we know that they’re going to want to everything they can, so we’re certainly aware of that.”
The All Blacks have also been boosted by the return to action of Israel Dagg. The full-back faced Wales in 2010 and has been a mainstay in the New Zealand starting line-up this season, scoring in the 51-22 victory over Scotland before being ruled out with an injury to his tailbone.
“I had a week off to sort out my little bruise but I’m eady to go,” added Dagg.
“She was a funny, old one. I just got a bit of an elbow to the head and was knocked out in the air and landed on my buttocks as Steve Hansen would say,” said Dagg.
“She was pretty tight for the first two days but she has slowly loosened up and now I am running freely, doing my weights normally so it has loosened up really well. “It feels 100 per cent now.”
