Tries from Fa’atoina Autagavaia, George Pisi and Johnny Leota were enough to secure a 26-19 win for the South Sea Islanders.
Wales did lead 13-10 at the interval, Ashley Beck’s interception try and the boot of Leigh Halfpenny doing the damage.
But they failed to hang on to their lead, something Tipuric puts down to errors on their behalf.
“We knew what they were going to be like, they’re a physical team and they wear their heart on their sleeves,” he said.
“Little mistakes from us let them into the game and they built on that and as you could see from the end they made the most of it.
“We were dropping the ball and not making sure we had enough numbers in the contact area – things like that are basic errors and when they creep in we’re not at our best.”
Despite conceding a try within three minutes, Tipuric still harboured hope his side would recover.
“Ryan said behind the posts just concentrate on the next job,” added the Ospreys’ flanker.
“Even when they scored their try we were looking to push on. You can never give up but in the end there were too many mistakes and we’ll have to move on for next week now.”
Next week involves a clash with world champions New Zealand but while Tipuric knows how difficult it will be, he is looking at the game in a positive manner.
“If we put in a good result and a good performance next week everyone will forget about the last two results,” he commented.
“It’s going to be tough but we’ve got to work hard on the training pitch now and look forward to it.
“We’ve got to learn from our mistakes and we’re playing the best team in the world.
“You’ve got nothing to lose and go out there and get stuck in from the start.”
