After a successful club season finished last week, players across Wales will be taking part in separate trials at each of the four regions.
These trials are open to all players over the age of 18 with selection for the four regions made after the trials day. The regional programme is the pathway to international honours with the Welsh squad management in attendance at trials, training and fixtures.
“We have been building to this throughout the league season and with the club season completed, the regional programme takes over from now till Christmas,” said Ben Rose, the WRU’s lead officer for the women’s and girl’s game.
“The Ospreys are defending champions and are looking to retain the trophy but more importantly the national coaches will be looking to who performs well to select for the Six Nations.”
The venues for the regional trials on Sunday are as follows:
Dragons: Newport High School (10am)
Blues: Leckwith Stadium (11am)
Ospreys: Pencoed RFC (10am)
Scarlets: Parc Y Scarlets (Midday)
Following the trials day, there will be a regional festival at Llandovery RFC on Sunday, November 18 before the first round of competitive fixtures on November 25.
