The top three teams all won in Swalec Division 1 East, but seven tries from Ystrad Rhondda ensured they reamin top after thumping Merthyr 52-10.

RGC 1404 kept up their pursuit of the leaders, comfortably beating Penallta 40-5 at Eirias Park, while Rhydyfelin won a nail-biter 12-11 over Heol Y Cyw to consolidate third.

Basement boys Tredegar suffered an eighth defeat by 48-10 against Treorchy. Fellow strugglers Mountain Ash lost 13-7 to Gilfach Goch. Rumney trumped Ynysybwl 24-21.

Division 2 East leaders Nelson battled to a 25-21 win over third placed Rhiwbina. Bedlinog leapfrogged Rhiwbina into second, after firing four tries past Llanishen in a 33-15 victory. Strugglers Rhymney posted five points after a morale boosting 32-18 defeat of Llantrisant. Fleur De Lys surprised Senghenydd to win 19-17. Abercyon beat Tylorstown 23-7 while Llantwit Fardre won 23-3 versus Garndiffaith.

Caerphilly maintained their grip on Three East after defeating Risca 20-15. Newport HSOB moved into second with a gritty 12-3 win at Brynmawr. Gwernyfed edged Talywain 10-5. Pontypool United marched into fourth after a 15-9 victory against Abercarn. Abergavenny won 17-12 at home to Croesyceiliog. Abertillery BG versus Tredegar Ironsides was postponed.

In Division 4 East, Blaenavon walloped Machen 39-3 in a six try onslaught. Cilfynydd stay top after a bonus-point 26-8 win over Monmouth. Oakdale and New Tredegar drew 20-20 while Ynysddu pummelled Blaina 90-8.
