The three-time Grand Slam winning prop will bring his testimonial year to a close at an exclusive gala dinner at the Towers Hotel in Swansea, which kicks off at 7pm on Saturday evening.
To wrap up what has been a ‘special’ and ‘overwhelming’ season for the player from Abercrave, Jones will take centre stage to thank guests one last time at the exclusive event he’s named ‘A Not New Year’s Eve Party’.
“What a fantastic year this has been for me and my family,” said the tight-head prop who has been named in the side to face the Scarlets at the Liberty Stadium on Boxing Day. “I’ve been genuinely overwhelmed by the unwavering support I’ve received from the fans and I’m extremely grateful.
“It’s been a year of ups and downs for me on the field, going from a Grand Slam victory to picking up an injury before the Autumn Internationals, but the support I’ve received throughout has been amazing.”
He added: “It only seems like the other day the Testimonial Committee first gathered to discuss the launch of my Testimonial Year and back then I had no idea what a truly special year it would be.
“So many hundreds of people have got behind the events and hopefully had some fun and memorable times along the way. For ‘A Not New Year’s Eve Party’ on Saturday 29 December tickets are still available at Adamjones3.com and I’m looking forward to an extra special night out to say a final huge thank you to the fans.”
A Not New Year’s Eve Party was set up by the Committee for all those festive fans who want to avoid the weight of expectation the eve of the New Year often brings and join in an evening of enjoyable food, fun and dancing with the loveable ‘Hair Bear’ and their favourite Ospreys stars.
Tickets can be purchased from Adamjones3.com all week and fans can now take advantage of a limited number of festive discounts available for individual and group bookings.
Among the 2012 events, fans have enjoyed gala dinners aplenty, a day at the races, a golf day and, Jones’ particular favourite, the Adam Jones’ Testimonial Select XV game against Neath in front of a 2,500 strong crowd at The Gnoll to start the 2012/13 season.
He commented: “It was so special to return to my old stomping ground and share the pitch with so many talented rugby players who have become great friends as well as team mates over the years. The boys couldn’t wait to pull on their shirts again and all-in-all it was a superb night.”
Jones is sharing the money raised throughout the year with his nominated charity, St David’s Foundation. Further details can be found at Adamjones3.com
