Llanelli returned empty handed last weekend after the home side dominated the game. Llanelli worked their socks off to gain the win but failed to convert pressure into points and ultimately paid the price.

Scottish were really fired up last week and no doubt they will want to complete the double and really get back into contention in the group. The club has recently announced that they will become a full time professional Championship rugby side and will present Llanelli with their toughest home challenge of the season so far.

To have any chance of making the latter stages, Llanelli must win all of their remaining games but against a top class outfit like London Scottish they will have their work cut out.

London Scottish bring in nine new faces for the British and Irish Cup fixture away at Llanelli.

Director of Rugby Simon Amor has chosen to bring in some fresh faces for the trip to South Wales as London Scottish go in search of back to back wins over Llanelli, following the 24-15 win at the Richmond Athletic Ground last Sunday.

Wingers Dave McCall and David Howells are named in the starting XV, with James Love shifting to full back and PJ Gidlow starting at inside centre. There’s also a new half back pairing with Dan Mugford and Richard Bolt coming in for Phil Godman and Ross Samson.

In the pack, Harry Allen starts at hooker, with Alex Mackenzie at tighthead and Colin Quigley moving to loosehead. Alex Karonias starts at lock alongside Tyler Hotson and club captain Lewis Calder comes in at openside flanker, joining Ben Russell and Mark Bright in the back row.

Craig McGrath comes onto the replacements bench along with Lewis Thiede and Jamie Stevenson. There’s also experienced cover to come from the bench in the form of Chevvy Pennycook and Andy Reay.
