Quins have had the wood on Ponty in recent times though it would be a surprise, on form, if the home club were not to emerge victorious tomorrow afternoon.
Ponty may have lost Lewis Williams who has moved to Bridgend in the search of regular first team rugby but with such a strong squad, head coach Dale McIntosh is likely to rotate his squad.
With two games in less than a week, fly half and star man Dai Flanagan may be given a rest.
For Quins, the recent win over Dundee in the British & Irish Cup has boosted confidence and they will travel to Sardis Road in good heart.
They welcome back Wales Sevens star Jason Harries who starts on the wing.
“It’s hard going up to Pontypridd and we’re obviously expecting a physical, tough encounter,” said Harries.
“Hopefully we can the momentum from the recent home win over Dundee into Saturday’s game.”
