Division One and Two’s games were all called off, and in the only game to survive the weather in Division Three East, Gwernyfed secured a bonus point in a 63-0 thrashing at home to Tredegar Ironsides.
It was a different story in Division Three South West as the only game to fall victim of the weather was the clash between Neath Athletic and Trebanos. Lowly Aberavon Green Stars suffered another defeat, this time at the hands of Pencoed, who secured a 25-20 away win. In a tight affair at Brynamman, the home side were beaten 8-3 by Ystalyfera while Morriston
beat Bryncoch 14-8.
Mumbles eased past Vardre in a 30-6 victory after the game had been moved to Vardre as the pitch at Mumbles was deemed unplayable. Resolven were beaten at home by Maesteg Celtic, with both teams scoring a try each, but the kicking prowess of the visitors was enough to secure a 22-13 win.
Elsewhere, in Division Four South West, Abercrave were at the wrong end of a 38-20 scoreline against Cwmavon, who went over five times to secure a valuable away bonus point. In Division Five South Central, a late try from Tonna’s Phil Bowen was
enough to scrape past visitors Porthcawl – the game finishing 15-14 to the hosts.
Up in North Wales’ top tier, Caernarfon succumbed to a shock defeat against Bala who scored two tries to help them on their way to a 17-9 victory.
